Introduction
Online applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. Course Work Programme for the year 2025, in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. /Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016 and CBPBU M.Phil./Ph.D. Regulations. The notification for this program was issued on August 12, 2025. The number of intake seats is subject to change.

Eligibility & Application Process
- Eligibility is in compliance with the UGC (minimum standards and procedures for award of M.Phil./Ph.D. degrees) Regulations, 2016 and CBPBU regulations.
- Persons working in Govt./Semi-Govt./Public Sector Undertakings must apply through the proper channel and attach a No Objection Certificate from their current employer.
- Documents related to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B (of the State of West Bengal) and for Persons with Disability (PwD) must be submitted with the filled-in Application Form.
- ABC ID and caste certificate with its number are mandatory for filling out the application form.
- After the completion of the Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University Research Entrance Test (CBPBURET) and Viva-Voce/Interview, the list of selected candidates will be published on the official university website.
Important Notes
- Application forms that are not properly filled out, are incomplete, or are submitted without the requisite documents will be summarily rejected.
- The university reserves the right to cancel the admission process for any subject without providing a reason.
- Admission is provisional and subject to the determination of eligibility by the concerned Research Advisory Committee.
- If any discrepancy is found later, the applicant’s application will be canceled, and no refund of fees will be entertained. Applicants are advised to satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility before applying and paying fees.
