Introduction
Online applications are invited for two-year (four semesters) full-time Master degree programmes (MA & MSc) under OPEN QUOTA for the Session 2025-2026. Only completed online applications will be considered.
Applications are accepted from candidates who have passed Graduation (with Honours/Major) not before 2024. There is no application fee. Reservation policy will be followed as per Government rules.
Eligibility (high-level)
- No upper or lower age limit.
- Candidates must have passed Graduation with Honours/Major (not before 2024).
- Minimum CGPA/subject requirements apply per course — see course table below.
- Specific additional criteria for some courses (e.g., Applied Economics requires 80% in Mathematics at 10+2).

Merit & Ranking Methodology
Admissions are strictly merit-based. General Merit Rank (GMR) is prepared from an academic score computed using course-specific formulas. Tie-breaking rules: CGPA in Honours, then Aggregate Graduation CGPA, then candidates may be bunched at the same rank.

- Reservation eligibility rules apply; valid certificates must be produced.
- Check merit & selection lists on the University website.
Eligibility Details
- Most MA/MSc programmes: minimum CGPA in Honours/Major as per course.
- Science programmes (Statistics, Biotechnology, Applied Economics, etc.) require CGPA 6.5 (Gen) / 6.0 (Reserved).
- Applied Economics additionally requires 80% in Mathematics at 10+2.
- Life-science programmes accept specified subject combinations — see official notification.
Important Notes
- Reservation policy as per Government of West Bengal.
- PwD reservation applies (≥40% benchmark disability).
- Wrong or inconsistent data may lead to cancellation.
- Schedule adherence is mandatory.
