Candidates must ensure they meet the following mandatory criteria before applying for the NIPER Guwahati PhD Admission 2025-26:

• Qualifying Degree: Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech/M.S. Pharm/M.Pharm) in any branch of Pharmaceutical sciences, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or any related fields.
• Minimum Marks: A minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 in the qualifying degree. A relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates, who require a minimum of 55%.
• Mandatory Fellowship: A valid fellowship is required from recognized national funding agencies such as CSIR-UGC (JRF), DBT (JRF), ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, or equivalent programmes.
• Candidates awaiting final results may also apply, provided they meet all eligibility criteria at the time of Admission.

The upper age limit for applicants is 28 years. Relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), Persons with Disabilities, and women candidates, as per Government of India norms.
