Key Application Instructions

Candidates are strongly advised to read the Information Brochure carefully before filling the application form.

  • Application Fee: Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC/EWS and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST. The application fee, once paid, is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Scrutiny & Cancellation: Scrutiny is based solely on the information submitted. Providing incorrect or hidden information will lead to the summarily cancellation of candidature at any stage.
  • Document Verification: Bring self-attested photocopies of all certificates/testimonials, all original documents, the PG dissertation/thesis copy, and two recent passport-size photographs at the time of the admission process.
  • OBC/EWS Certificate Validity: The OBC and EWS certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2025.
  • Research Proposal: Submit a statement about your research proposal (not more than 500 words) in the online application form for your first priority topic.
  • Part-Time/Sponsored Candidates: Must bring a Certificate/NOC from their employer on official stationary, stating they will be sponsored and will not be withdrawn midway.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for MNIT Jaipur PhD Admission 2025-26

The eligibility conditions mentioned below are the absolute minimum. Departments/Centres may prescribe additional requirements for shortlisting.

  1. General Academic Requirement: Minimum of 6.5 on the 10-point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree.
  2. Relaxation: SC/ST/PWD candidates require a minimum of 6.0 on the 10-point scale (or 55% marks).
  3. Provisional Admission: May be considered if all exams are completed but final certificate is awaited, subject to producing evidence by the last date of registration.
  4. Direct B.Tech./B.Arch. to Ph.D. Scheme: Requires Bachelor’s degree with 75% marks or above (or equivalent CGPA), a valid GATE score, and graduation from a CFTI or institute with an NIRF ranking up to 100.

Selection Process & Written Test Details

The selection process for MNIT Jaipur PhD Admission 2025-26 involves two stages: a Written Test and an Interview.

Key Details on Selection

  • Exemption from Written Test: Candidates with a valid National Level Test (e.g., GATE/CSIR-NET/UGC-NET) are exempted from the written test but must appear for the interview.
  • Qualifying Score (Written Test): Minimum of 35% in each part (Research Aptitude and Subject Knowledge) and an overall 50% is required in order to qualify for the interview.
  • Final Admission: Admission is based purely on the “interview” of the shortlisted applicants. The mode will be offline.

Financial Assistance & Fellowship (MNIT Jaipur PhD Admission 2025-26)

The Institute provides financial assistance (Institute Assistantship/Financial Assistantship) for a period of up to ten semesters for eligible Ph.D. students.

Stipend Details

  • Regular Assistantship: Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years (JRF), and Rs. 42,000 per month for the subsequent three years (SRF).
  • HRA: Granted at 16% of the Assistantship if hostel accommodation is unavailable.

Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme (ECE & EE)

This scheme offers higher financial support for Electronics and IT: Phase II candidates (valid GATE score mandatory):

  • Fellowship: Rs. 38,750/- per month (1st and 2nd year) and Rs. 43,750/- per month (3rd, 4th, and 5th year).
  • Research Contingency Grant: Rs. 1,20,000/- per year (after completion of one year).

The institute reserves the right not to run any particular programme or to change its statutes, regulations, and the number of seats without prior notice. The decision of the Chairman, Senate, shall be final in matters of interpretation.

Notes on Administration

  1. The provisions for reservation of seats are subject to modification in accordance with any Government Order.
  2. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to prove eligibility and claim reservation under a specific category.
  3. The OBC/EWS certificate should have been issued after March 31, 2025.
  4. The candidate must be ready with all original documents and PG dissertation thesis at the time of interview.
  5. There is no age restriction for the postgraduate programme.
