Educational Qualification
- Master's Degree: A 1-year/2-semester master's after a 4-year bachelor's OR a 2-year/4-semester master's after a 3-year bachelor's, with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- 4-Year Bachelor's (Honors with Research): Minimum 75% marks in aggregate.
- M.Phil. Holders: At least 55% marks in M.Phil. are also eligible.
Relaxation & Special Conditions
- Relaxation of 5% marks for candidates belonging to OSC/DSC/BC (Block A&B - non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled/EWS of Haryana.
- For Part-Time PhD: Two years of experience as a full-time employee is mandatory.
- Classical Indian Philosophy: Requires a Diploma in Sanskrit if not studied at BA/MA level.
- For Education and Library Science degrees, percentage is calculated by halving the combined marks (e.g., B.Ed + M.Ed).
Admission is granted based on valid national-level test scores or a university-conducted entrance test. The merit list is prepared with a clear point system.

- NET Qualified (Category-1) in Main/Allied subject (valid fellowship).
- DST Inspire Fellows in Main/Allied subject (with validity).
