Disaster Management Intern – NIDM

Eligibility: 

(i) The programme is open to final-year undergraduate students, postgraduate students (any semester), M.Phil./Ph.D. scholars, and recent graduates from Disaster Management (preferable) and allied disciplines including Development Studies, Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Engineering, Health Studies, Architecture, Media, Policy, and related fields.

(ii) Applicants must have secured a minimum of 65% marks (or equivalent grade) in their last qualifying examination.

Duration: The internship duration ranges from 2 to 4 months (subject to mentor review), with a maximum intake of 15 interns per cycle.

Selection: Selection will be based on academic merit, relevance to NIDM’s mandate in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and institutional requirements, and may include personal interaction. Final selection is subject to approval by the Competent Authority.

Place of internship: Internships are primarily on-site (NIDM Delhi and Vijayawada campuses); limited remote work may be permitted after one week of physical joining, subject to mentor approval.

(ii) Official communication will be routed exclusively through internship.nidm@nidm.gov.in.

(iii) Applicants are advised to await official correspondence, as processing may take a minimum of two weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Interns must submit a final report in the prescribed format, and all internship outputs shall remain the property of NIDM. Certificates will be issued only upon successful completion and formal approval of the report.
