NIT Kurukshetra PhD Admission 2026-27 (Odd Semester) notification has been released for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026-27 at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. Eligible Indian and foreign national candidates can apply for admission as per the prescribed eligibility criteria and admission process. The admission process includes application scrutiny, written test (where applicable), presentation, interview, merit preparation, and final admission. Research scholars are classified on the basis of:
- Time Devoted: Full-Time and Part-Time
- Occupation: Teacher, Non-Teacher, Project Staff
- Country: Indian and Foreigner
- Financial Assistance: Self-Financed and Fellowship/Scholarship Awardees
Fellowships may be received through Institute Fellowship, CSIR, UGC, DST, DBT, NBHM, INSPIRE, ICCR, project fellowships, or other approved funding agencies.

Candidates in the final year of their Master's programme whose results are not available by the application deadline may apply. However, they must submit their final result on or before 31 October 2026, failing which admission will be cancelled.
Part-time Ph.D. applicants may belong to the following categories:
- Regular employees in R&D organizations, industries, national laboratories, PSUs, and government organizations.
- Regular employees of NIT Kurukshetra.
- Employees of government-funded, aided, or PPP educational institutions.
- Regular faculty members of private academic institutions having adequate research facilities.
Applicants must possess at least one year of experience as on the last date of application and must produce an experience certificate during the interview.
Requirements for No Objection Certificate (NOC)
- Permission to pursue Ph.D. on a part-time basis.
- Official duties should permit sufficient time for research.
- Leave should be sanctioned when required.
- Services must be retained during coursework and research period.
- Submission of online application.
- Scrutiny of applications by the concerned department.
- Publication of eligible candidates list.
- Written Test (where applicable).
- Research presentation before DRC.
- Interview by Departmental Research Committee.
- Preparation of merit list.

Government of India reservation policy will be followed for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories.
- All categories follow a common selection process.
- Eligible candidates will appear in a National Level Ph.D. Entrance Test at NIT Kurukshetra.
- Shortlisted candidates will attend the interview before the Departmental Research Committee.
- Merit will be prepared based on applicable evaluation criteria.
- Qualifying marks are 40% (written test + interview), with relaxation as per Government norms.
- Apply through the online Google Form notified by the institute.
- Upload the duly filled application form and required documents.
- Enter CGPA/marks exactly as awarded by the institute/university.
- Only one department/school can be selected in a single application.
- Submitted applications cannot be edited later.
- Fee payment must be completed through SBI i-Collect mode before the deadline.
