- Stage 1: Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET).

- Master's Degree or equivalent professional degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- 5% relaxation is available for SC/ST/VJA/NT-B/NT-C/NT-D/OBC/SEBC/EWS (where applicable) and Differently-Abled candidates as per government norms.
- Candidates with a 4-Year/8-Semester Bachelor's Degree under NEP 2020 must have at least 75% marks or equivalent grade.
- Applicable categories are eligible for 5% relaxation in the Bachelor's Degree route as well.
- Candidates who have cleared M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks are eligible to appear for PET subject to prescribed conditions.
- NET qualified candidates with eligibility for JRF/NET, Assistant Professor or Ph.D. admission are eligible without appearing in PET, subject to interview merit.
- University/Institute approved INSPIRE Scholars are eligible without PET and will be admitted through interview merit.
- Eligible exempted candidates must apply through the prescribed online process.

- Candidates may apply for more than one programme, but a separate application and fee are required for each programme.
- Merit list will initially be prepared on entrance examination marks.
- In case of a tie, previous qualifying examination CGPA will be considered.
- Candidates must apply online through the university website.
- Printout of the submitted application should be preserved for future admission processes.
- Candidates appearing in the final semester of PG programmes may also apply, subject to submission of final qualifying marks at admission.
- No hard copy of the online application is required to be submitted to the university.
