Indian Institute of Information Technology Raichur is one of the newly established IIITs under the Public-Private Partnership model of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute commenced academic activities in August 2019 with its first batch of B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering.

The institute is dedicated to developing a strong academic and research ecosystem in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computing, and allied interdisciplinary fields. As the institute moves to its permanent campus, it is entering a significant phase of academic growth, research expansion, innovation, and technology-driven development.

Admission to the Ph.D. programme does not automatically guarantee financial assistance. Any financial support provided shall be subject to eligibility requirements, merit, performance during the selection process, availability of sanctioned positions or funds, satisfactory academic progress, and approval by the institute.

1. Candidates possessing valid centrally funded fellowships such as UGC-JRF, CSIR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, NBHM, or equivalent fellowships recognized by the institute may be shortlisted directly for interview, subject to eligibility requirements.
2. Candidates without centrally funded fellowships seeking admission under the Regular Full-Time category must appear physically at IIIT Raichur for a written examination followed by an interview.
3. Applicants under Sponsored, Self-Financed, Project-Funded, Direct, External, Part-Time, and Working Professional categories must also appear physically for a written examination and interview.
4. Final selection will be based on:
   • Academic record
   • Performance in written examination and/or interview
   • Research aptitude
   • Suitability for proposed research area
   • Availability of supervisors
   • Institute norms

• Applications will be accepted only through online mode.
• Candidates should carefully read the detailed admission notification and eligibility requirements before applying.
• Applications submitted through any mode other than the prescribed online form may not be considered.
• Incomplete applications may be rejected.
• Applications submitted after the prescribed deadline may not ordinarily be considered.
