The application form must be submitted through the official university portal within the prescribed dates. The DET-2026 entrance examination will be conducted only in the following subjects. The University reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel the number of seats without prior notice.

• Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or an equivalent qualification in the concerned or allied subject.
• A minimum of 55% marks is required in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) categories are eligible with 50% marks as per UGC regulations and Government rules.
• Candidates who obtained their Master's Degree before 19 September 1991 from a recognized university are eligible as per applicable UGC regulations.
• Students appearing in the final semester/year examination may also apply, provided they submit the final qualifying result before registration in the Ph.D. programme.
• The responsibility for verifying eligibility rests entirely with the applicant.

• Reservation will be applicable for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, Women and Divyang candidates according to prevailing Government rules.
• The reservation benefit is available only to candidates having Madhya Pradesh domicile.

The following candidates are exempted from appearing in the DET-2026 written entrance examination. However, they must appear for the interview and are also required to submit the online application form within the prescribed schedule.

• UGC-NET JRF qualified candidates.
• CSIR-NET JRF qualified candidates.
• Teacher Fellowship awardees of UGC or AICTE.
• Candidates holding Government or Foreign Research Fellowships.
• Candidates possessing an M.Phil. Degree (with course work) as per UGC Regulations 2009 and subsequent amendments.

The DET-2026 Entrance Examination will be conducted on the scheduled date for candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. Programme. The DET-2026 question paper will consist of two compulsory objective-type sections.

Only candidates securing the prescribed minimum qualifying marks in the entrance examination will be shortlisted for the interview. The list of qualified candidates will be published on the University website.

All candidates who qualify the entrance examination, including those exempted from the written examination, must appear before the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for the interview. The interview schedule for each subject will be notified on the University website.

During the interview, candidates will present and discuss their proposed research interest or research area before the Research Advisory Committee. The committee will evaluate whether the proposed research can be successfully carried out in the research centre and whether it can contribute to new or additional knowledge in the concerned discipline.

Interview Evaluation Criteria

The final merit list will be prepared by giving 70% weightage to the entrance examination marks and 30% weightage to the interview marks. The merit list will be notified on the University website.

• Original certificates along with one self-attested copy of Class 10, Class 12, Graduation and Post Graduation mark sheets and certificates.
• Original and self-attested copies of SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, Divyang and Madhya Pradesh domicile certificates, wherever applicable.
• Income certificate, wherever required for claiming reservation benefits.
• No Objection Letter from the proposed Supervisor and Co-supervisor (where applicable), duly forwarded by the Head of the Research Centre.

The allocation of supervisors for selected candidates will be finalized by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) based on the availability of seats with the respective supervisors. If a supervisor is unavailable at the research centre, a co-supervisor may be appointed from the research centre to guide and monitor the research scholar.
