Note: No admission test will be conducted for any PG subject where the number of valid applications is less than the total available seats. In such cases, all eligible applicants will be admitted subject to fulfillment of conditions.
General PG Eligibility
- Candidates who have appeared or are due to appear in UG 6th Semester 2026 (under NEP) provided they have cleared all semester examinations up to 5th Semester.
- Passed in 3-year UG under CBCS or Part-III (1+1+1) examinations with clear results or equivalent from UGC recognized Universities.
- Candidates passing Honours/Major course in Arts from IGNOU, NSOU, or Distance Education Programmes of other West Bengal universities are also eligible.
- B.Sc./B.A. in Geography, Economics, Psychology Honours students are eligible and will be awarded M.Sc./M.A. degree in the respective subject on successful completion.
- Each candidate must submit a separate application form for each subject they apply for.
MBA Eligibility
- Essential: Graduates in Science/Arts/Commerce/Management/Medical/Engineering/Law (5-year)/B.Tech/M.Tech and equivalent courses under 10+2+3 system or equivalent with 50% marks in Graduation/Post Graduation or aggregate (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC). For NEP: Major/Minor/MDP from any subject.
- Desirable: Qualified in CAT/MAT/XMAT/GMAT/GATE and relevant UGC-specified National/State Level Entrance Tests.
B.Lib.I.Sc. Eligibility
- Fresher Candidates: Graduation (10+2+3 pattern) from any discipline or Masters degree or a technical degree (10+2+4 or 10+2+5) such as Engineering, Computer Application, Pharmacy, Law etc. from a UGC recognized University or Institute.
- Deputed Candidates: Graduation and working experience as a full-time salaried staff in any Govt./Govt. aided Libraries/recognized institution with a No Objection Certificate from the institution.
- Certificate Holders: Graduation (10+2+3) with certificate in Library Science.
Reservation of seats is as per Government of West Bengal rules.
- MBA Seats (Total 60): UR-32, SC-13, ST-4, OBC-5, EWS-6.
- B.Lib.Sc. Seats (Total 49): UR-26, SC-11, ST-3, OBC-4, EWS-5.
- PWD: 5% reservation for Persons with Disability within each respective category (SC/ST/OBC) & unreserved. Candidates with 40% or more disability must submit a certificate from a relevant Govt. Hospital.
- OBC-NCL: OBC category reservation is admissible only to candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer with a valid OBC-NCL certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Domicile: SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD candidates of West Bengal domicile only are entitled to reservation benefits. Candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved.
- Foreign Candidates: Treated as General candidates.
- Merit List: Will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Admission Test only.
