Bankura University (BKU) PG Admission 2026-28 notification has been released for admission into various Postgraduate programmes for the Academic Session 2026-28. Online applications have been invited for admission to various M.A., M.Sc., MSW, LL.M., M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication and Integrated Bachelor of Library & Information Science – Master of Library & Information Science programmes offered under NEP 2020 and self-financing categories.

The admission process will be conducted completely through the online mode according to the schedule published by the University. Candidates are advised to read the official information bulletin carefully before submitting the online application form. The following programmes are offered under the Self Financing category for the Academic Session 2026-28.

Applicants must satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements prescribed by Bankura University for admission to the Postgraduate programmes. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, candidates should have obtained the required qualifying degree with the prescribed minimum marks.

For admission to Santali Medium programmes, the undergraduate programme must have been completed in Santali Medium.

• Candidates who graduated before 2024 are not eligible for regular PG programmes.
• For LL.M., candidates who completed LL.B. before 2006 are not eligible.
• For Self Financing programmes, graduates before 2014 (or before 2024 under NEP 2020) are not eligible.
• Minimum qualifying marks are 45% for General candidates and 40% for SC/ST/PH candidates unless otherwise specified.

The Bankura University (BKU) PG Admission 2026-28 process will be conducted completely through the online admission portal. Candidates must complete online registration, submit the application form, upload the required documents and participate in the merit-based admission process according to the published schedule.

The University will prepare the merit list based on the marks obtained at the Graduation level in the respective subject. Separate merit lists will be published subject-wise and category-wise.

• There will be no admission test.
• Admission will be based entirely on Graduation marks.
• Separate merit lists will be prepared for Group A and Group B candidates.
• If two candidates secure equal Graduation marks, Higher Secondary marks will be considered.
• If Higher Secondary marks are also equal, Date of Birth will be used for determining merit.
• Only registered candidates will be included in the merit list.
• Candidates can report discrepancies within the notified period through the Help Desk.

Note: Group A and Group B are not applicable for LL.M., M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication and Integrated B.Lib.I.Sc.–M.Lib.I.Sc. programmes.

• Admission lists will be prepared on the basis of merit and institute preferences selected by candidates.
• Merit will always receive priority during seat allocation.
• Candidates must select institute preferences while filling the application form.
• If seats remain vacant, subsequent admission lists may be published.
• Vacant seats may later be filled from either group depending on availability.
• Only admitted candidates can participate in the upgradation process.
• Admission fees paid earlier will be adjusted during upgradation.
• If a candidate receives an upgraded seat, fresh admission must be completed within the prescribed period.
• Failure to complete admission after upgradation will lead to cancellation of candidature.

3. Complete online registration.
4. Fill the application form.
5. Upload photograph, signature and required documents.
6. Preview all entered details.
7. Edit information if required.
8. Submit the application.
9. Receive Username and Password through registered mobile number and email.
10. Download and print the application form.
11. Check the published merit list.
12. Report any discrepancy before the deadline.
13. Login using your credentials.
14. Pay the admission fee through the online payment gateway.
15. Apply for upgradation (if eligible).

• Students must maintain at least 75% attendance during the first month of classes as per UGC norms.

The following fee structure is applicable for Postgraduate admissions for the Academic Session 2026-28.

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PH candidates will be provided according to the rules and regulations of the Government of West Bengal.

• No application fee is required for regular PG programmes.
• Self Financing programmes require an application fee of ₹500.
• Admission will remain provisional until successful verification of original documents.
• Only online payment mode will be accepted for admission.
• Candidates are advised to preserve the application form and payment receipt for future reference.
