Bhattadev University PhD Admission 2026-27 notification has been released for admission to the Ph.D. Programme for the academic session 2026-2027. The notification was issued by the Office of the Academic Registrar, Bhattadev University, Bajali, Pathsala, Assam – 781325, on 07 August 2026.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programmes against the tentative vacant seats detailed in the official notification. Tentative vacant seats have been announced across 22 departments.

The admission process includes the Bhattadev University Ph.D. Entrance Test (BU-PET), wherever applicable, followed by a personal interview for shortlisted candidates. Candidates who have cleared NET/SLET and other equivalent national tests as specified in the notification are exempted from appearing in the written entrance test but are required to appear in the personal interview.

The date of the Entrance Test, date of declaration of Entrance Test results and date of Personal Interview of shortlisted candidates will be notified in due course.

The following departments have tentative vacant seats under Bhattadev University PhD Admission 2026-27:

Candidates seeking admission into the Ph.D. programme must have a 2-year Master's degree in the concerned or an allied subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.

A 5% relaxation of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-Abled candidates with equal to or more than 40% disability/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as per UGC guidelines.

The application fee is to be deposited through SBI Collect into the University Account.

Candidates seeking Bhattadev University PhD Admission 2026-27 should follow the application procedure mentioned in the official notification.

1. Download the application form from the Bhattadev University website.
2. Fill in the application form.
3. Deposit the application fee through SBI Collect into the University Account.
4. Keep the payment receipt.
5. Fill in the Google Form which will be available on the University website from 10 August 2026.
6. Submit the filled application form to the Office of the Academic Registrar on the day of the Entrance Test along with the payment receipt.
7. The last date of application, payment of application fee and submission of the Google Form is 20 August 2026.

Eligible candidates will be admitted through a two-stage process.

The syllabus of the entrance test will consist of General (50%) and Subject-specific (50%) questions.

Candidates who have cleared NET/SLET and other equivalent national tests as per the UGC guidelines mentioned in the notification are exempted from appearing in the written entrance test.

However, such candidates must still appear in the personal interview.

Candidates are required to produce the following documents at the time of the interview:

1. A print copy of the Application Form generated after submission.
2. Original copies of Pass Certificates and Mark-Sheets from HSLC to Master's Degree.
3. Original Caste Certificate, if applicable.
4. Self-attested copy of score card for UGC-NET, etc.
5. Self-attested copy of score card of BU-PET 2026 downloaded from University website.
6. No Objection Certificate, in case the candidate is employed.

The notification states that the State reservation policy will be followed.

No hostel accommodation can be provided to any Research Scholar.
