Eligibility Criteria for PhD Admission 2025
Candidates must meet the following essential criteria for **PhD Admission 2025** at BBMKU:
- The applicant must have a Master’s Degree or an equivalent qualification in the concerned subject from a recognized university.
- The Master’s degree must have at least **55% marks** in aggregate or an equivalent grade on a point scale (wherever grading system is followed).
- The applicant must have qualified **UGC-JRF/NET FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/NET (Ph.D.)/ UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE/JET**.
- The qualifying exam (JRF/NET/NET(Ph.D.)/UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE/JET) must have been passed on or before the date of advertisement.
Note: A relaxation of **5% marks** (minimum 50%) or equivalent grade will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC-I/BC-II/ PWD/EWS categories, as per UGC norms.
Selection Procedure for PhD Admission 2025
The selection process for **PhD Admission 2025** will be conducted on the basis of a total of **100 marks**. The procedure varies based on the candidate’s qualification:
- **Category I (JRF qualified):** Candidates will be admitted based solely on the **interview**.
- **Category II (NET FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR) & Category III (NET FOR Ph.D. only):** Admission will be based on the combined merit of NET marks and the marks obtained in the interview/VIVA-VOCE. A **70% weightage** will be given for test scores and a **30% weightage** for the interview.

Rejection Grounds: Your application may be rejected for: submission of an incomplete application form, non-payment of the prescribed application fee, failure to submit requisite supporting documents, or application received after the last date.
General Instructions for PhD Admission 2025
- Reservations will be implemented strictly as per the rules of the Government of Jharkhand. If no eligible candidate is available in a reserved category, the vacant seat(s) will be filled in accordance with the provisions of SANKALP of the Government of Jharkhand, No. 1434 dated 15.02.2019.
- Candidates belonging to **BC-I and BC-II** categories must submit a **valid caste certificate for the current year** in the prescribed format, issued by the Government of Jharkhand. The certificate must clearly state that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer.
- Candidates applying under the **EWS** category must also submit a **valid certificate for the current year** in the prescribed format issued by the Government of Jharkhand.
- The University reserves the right to revise the number of seats and disciplines at any stage of the admission process, and may change or modify the admission schedule if necessary.
- Publication of the list of eligible candidates for interview, date of interview, date of DRC and Pre-Registration Seminar, etc., will be notified from time to time on the University website.
- No TA/DA will be provided to candidates appearing for the interview.
