Candidates must ensure eligibility before applying. The institute has four categories for enrolment:

NET Exemption: Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR NET are exempted from the PhD Screening Examination 2026 but must appear for interview and counselling at RMLIMS, Lucknow.
The PhD Screening Examination 2026 is an online, MCQ-based test. Candidates must bring their own fully charged laptop. Other devices like mobile phones/tablets are not allowed.

Applications are only accepted online via the institute website www.drrmlims.in. Follow these steps:
- Step 1 – Registration: Log on to https://drrmlims.in. Click on “Single Window System” and register by entering details in the New Admission batch section. An OTP will be sent to your mobile & email to set the password.
- Step 2 – Login & Fill Form: Login via Single Sign-On. On your dashboard, access the “Online Admission/Onboarding Form”. Read instructions carefully, tick the disclaimer, and complete Part 1 (Personal details), Part 2 (Educational details), and Part 3 (Document Upload).
- Step 3 – Fee Payment: Deposit the application fee of ₹2000 (for Non-NET) via the online payment link. An SMS with application number will be sent to your registered mobile/email. Note this number for future correspondence.
Documents required: Self-attested copies of qualifications, experience, publications, award, UP caste certificate (if applicable), and photograph. For employed candidates, NOC is required at the time of counselling.
- Candidates who qualify the PhD Screening exam on 27th Feb must appear for document verification & Personal Interview from 12:00 Noon onwards on the same day.
- If the number of qualified candidates is large, interviews may continue to the next working day.
- Employed candidates must bring the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer at the time of counselling. Selected candidates need prior sanction of study leave for the entire PhD duration.
- All original documents (eligibility, caste, NOC, etc.) will be checked at the time of counselling/admission.
- If a selected candidate fails to fulfill admission requirements in due time, the seat may be allotted to another candidate.
- In case of multiple eligible candidates for a guide, preference: higher screening exam score → older candidate if scores are equal.
- For any dispute, the decision of the Director, Dr. RMLIMS shall be final. Legal jurisdiction: Lucknow.
- CSIR/UGC-NET qualified candidates can apply up to one month after the declaration of Dec 2025/Jan 2026 NET result.
