IIIT Delhi PhD Admission 2026 (April) notification has been released for candidates aspiring to join a globally competitive research ecosystem. The Ph.D. program at IIIT-Delhi is designed to empower students with strong research capabilities and contribute to leading universities and industries worldwide.
The institute offers Ph.D. programs in multiple disciplines including Computational Biology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mathematics, Human-Centered Design, and Social Sciences and Humanities.

- Regular Ph.D.: For candidates not employed and fully dedicated to research.
- Sponsored Ph.D.: For working professionals supported by their organization.
Students joining the Ph.D. program are eligible for institute fellowship.
- ₹60,000/- per month (including HRA)
- International lab visit support up to ₹1.5 lakh
Additional Support
- ₹50,000 for laptop/desktop purchase
- ₹20,000 contingency grant per year
Travel Grant
Up to ₹2.5 lakh support for attending international conferences.
IIIT Delhi follows a rolling admission process where candidates are expected to interact with faculty members before applying.
- Admissions are conducted twice a year (Monsoon & Winter sessions).
- Selection is based on academic records, written test, and/or interview.
- Reserved category candidates are given relaxation as per norms.
- Applications are accepted only through online mode.
- Separate application required for each discipline.
- Incomplete applications will be rejected.
