Candidates must follow a mandatory online application process for the Jadavpur University (JU) Faculty of Arts PhD Admission 2025-26, as no offline payment will be accepted. The process involves several steps:
- Candidates must first apply in the prescribed format available on the university website https://jadavpuruniversity.in/.
- The application fee of Rs. 500/- (Per Subject) must be paid online through the SBI Collect System using a Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
- After completing the payment, the downloaded form along with the **online payment receipt** and all required testimonials must be submitted.

Reservation Policy for Jadavpur University (JU) Faculty of Arts PhD Admission 2025-26
Reservation benefits for various categories are subject to specific conditions and the production of required certificates:
- SC/ST Category: Candidates from states other than West Bengal are not entitled to the reserved quota benefit unless they produce a Domicile Certificate proving residency in West Bengal for at least 10 years.
- OBC-A/OBC-B Category: Provisionally selected candidates must produce an OBC certificate as per the latest Gazette notifications from the Govt. of West Bengal. OBC-A and OBC-B candidates from outside West Bengal are not entitled to reservation benefits without a 10-year residency domicile certificate.
- PD Category: Only persons with 40% or more disability will be considered under the PD quota, as per the RPD Act, 2016.
- EWS Category: Reservation is as per the notification from the Government of West Bengal. The EWS certificate of the 2025-2026 financial year is the only one valid for admission in this academic session.
Important Notes
- The University is not liable for any postal delay. No application form will be accepted after the due date.
- Incomplete and/or incorrect applications in any manner will be rejected.
- Application submission hours are 11:00 am-02:00 pm and 03:00 pm- 05:00 pm, except on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
- Course Work including Research Methodology and Research Publication Ethics (RPE) course is mandatory for all provisionally selected Ph.D. scholars in the Faculty of Arts for the 2025-2026 session.
- An applicant admitted elsewhere or within this University for another Ph.D. programme or any other programme during the time of admission, will not be considered.
- The date of the WRET examination and PRC meeting for the interview will be notified in due course through the university website.
