Kumaun University (KU) PhD Admission 2026 notification has been officially released for candidates seeking admission into doctoral programs. The admission process includes online registration, interview, merit preparation, and counselling as per the official prospectus.

• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
• 4-year Bachelor's degree holders must have minimum 75% marks.
• M.Phil. candidates with 55% marks are eligible.
• Final year postgraduate students can apply (subject to qualification before counselling).

Eligible candidates must also meet at least one of the following:

• UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / GATE / GPAT qualified
• INSPIRE Fellowship holders
• Permanent teachers with required experience
• Group-A government officers (5 years service)

• Selection is based on Interview (30 marks).
• For NET candidates: 70% NET + 30% Interview.
• Others: Interview marks converted to 100.
• Final merit list prepared subject-wise.
• Document verification & counselling required.

Reservation is applicable as per Uttarakhand state policy. Only candidates with valid domicile certificates of Uttarakhand are eligible for reservation benefits.
