Various Schemes and Compulsory Condition
The NIT Arunachal Pradesh PhD Admission 2025-26 is offered under three schemes with mandatory conditions:

| 3. | Project Staff Working at NIT AP | Project staff may be allowed to apply as Full-time PhD Scholars duly forwarded by PI of the project and Dean (R&D). The eligibility criteria should be the same as full-time institute fellowship scholars and or sponsored agencies. The remaining duration of the project at the time of admission should be at least one year. The PhD supervisor of a project staff should be the PI or Co-PI of that project. After project completion during PhD, the project staff is not entitled for any assistantship from the institute but may receive funding from external agencies (UGC or CSIR) or another project of the same PI or Co-PI. |
Eligibility for NIT Arunachal Pradesh PhD Admission 2025-26
Minimum Educational Qualification
Engineering Departments:
- Master’s or M.S. degree in Engineering or Technology in the appropriate branch of study with First class (60 percent aggregate or 6.5 CGPA) at both UG and PG for GEN or GEN-EWS or OBC-NCL category, and minimum 55 percent aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC or ST or PwD category candidates. OR
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology or M.Sc or MCA with at least CGPA of 8.0 or 10 or 75 percent of marks under GEN or GEN-EWS or OBC-NCL category, and at least CGPA of 7.5 or 10 or 70 percent for SC or ST or PwD category.
- Final year students are eligible, provided they produce the final grade card at the time of admission, failing which their admission will be cancelled.
Sciences or Humanities or Management Departments:
- Master’s Degree in an appropriate branch of Science or Humanities or Social Sciences or Management or M.Tech with a first class or minimum 60 percent marks (or CGPA of 6.5 on 10 point scale or equivalent) or equivalent at Master’s level.
Fellowship to Full-Time Candidates
Candidates selected as Full-Time scholars are allowed to receive revised monthly fellowship as per the central Government and Institute norms, subject to the availability of funds. Recipients of the assistantship must also take care of institutional and departmental responsibilities.
