General Eligibility Conditions
Candidates must satisfy the general eligibility criteria and the specific requirements of the respective departments. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels is generally required for GEN/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS categories (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD).- Engineering Departments: B.Tech./B.E./M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in the relevant discipline.
- Science Departments (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Biotechnology): Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.) in the relevant discipline.
- Department of Management Studies: Master’s degree in Management/Social Sciences/Commerce/PGDM/M.Tech. in any specialization/CA/CS/ICWA.
- Humanities and Social Sciences: Master’s degree in English.
Important Note on GATE/NET: As per the latest December 2025 notification, GATE/UGC-CSIR-NET/GPAT is NOT mandatory for admission to the Full-time (Institute Fellowship) and Part-time categories. However, some department-specific requirements may apply.

Note: SC/ST/PwD candidates typically receive a full waiver on the Tuition Fee (Rs. 15,000/-) for the Institute Fellowship category. Other Fees and deposits may apply. Hostel and Mess charges are separate.
Instructions to Apply
The application process is entirely online. Candidates must follow these steps carefully:- Read the Brochure: Review the official Information Brochure thoroughly for department-specific eligibility and qualifications.
- Online Application: Visit the official NIT Warangal Admissions Portal:
https://admissions.nitw.ac.in/. - Registration: Register and log in to the application portal.
- Fill the Form: Complete the online application form with all personal and academic details.
- Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of all necessary documents, including:
- Academic certificates (UG, PG, etc.)
- Category Certificate (OBC-NCL/EWS certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2025).
- GATE/NET/INSPIRE Scorecard (if applicable)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer (for Part-time/Sponsored candidates).
- Pay Application Fee: Pay the required non-refundable application fee online. (Typically Rs. 2,000/- for GEN/OBC/EWS and Rs. 1,000/- for SC/ST/PwD).
- Final Submission & Printout: Submit the application and take a printout of the submitted form and fee receipt for future reference.
Important Information
- NIT Warangal is a fully residential Institute; all admitted students are generally required to stay on campus.
- The list of shortlisted candidates will be notified only on the institute website, and no separate call letters will be sent.
- In case of a result awaited for the qualifying degree, provisional admission is allowed, provided all exams are completed by August 15, 2025, and minimum requirements are met by September 30, 2025.
- Any legal dispute arising out of this admissions notification is subject to the Courts having jurisdiction over Warangal, Telangana.
