- Medicine/Dentistry: MD/MS/MDS or equivalent in relevant subject from recognized university. Non-medical candidates with M.Sc. (3 years) in Anatomy/Physiology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Pharmacology are also eligible.
- Pharmacy: M.Pharma with at least 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD).
- Nursing: As per INC guidelines (M.Sc. Nursing with 3 years teaching/clinical experience for part‑time).
- Part‑Time: In‑service candidates within RUHS jurisdiction with NOC from employer; Nursing part‑time requires 3 years experience after M.Sc. Nursing.

Candidates who have qualified UGC‑NET (including JRF)/UGC‑CSIR NET/SLET/GATE/GPAT/SET are exempted from entrance test. Foreign/NRI with 55% master’s & qualified PET also exempted. But all exempted candidates must fill the online application form.
- Total 100 MCQs (each 1 mark): Section A (Research Methodology & General Aptitude – 50 marks), Section B (Subject Aptitude – 50 marks).
- Duration: 120 minutes. Offline mode (OMR based).
- Minimum 50% to qualify (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD).
- Final merit: 70% entrance + 30% interview (viva 14 marks + communication 2 + academic background 8 + achievements 4).
- Interview components: subject knowledge, research aptitude, publications, research experience.
Regular/Full‑time: Available during working hours; employed candidates need NOC and leave.
Part‑time: For in‑service within RUHS jurisdiction. Requires NOC (Annexure‑3) and undertaking to stay within research centre jurisdiction. Nursing part‑time: 3 years teaching/clinical experience mandatory.
After exam, eligible candidates pay counseling fee (Rs. 1600/‑) and fill preferences of supervisor. Allotment based on merit, seat vacancy, and choices. In case of tie, older candidate gets priority.
