- Where PET is not conducted by the university in the concerned subject, eligibility may be available for the relevant subject specified by the concerned Board of Studies and listed in Appendix-I.
- Only candidates who have obtained or are pursuing a Master's Degree in the subjects specified in the relevant subject mapping are eligible to apply under that subject category.
- The responsibility for selecting the correct PET subject rests solely with the candidate.
- Selection of an incorrect subject may result in rejection of the application without assigning any reason, and the fee paid will not be refunded.
- The qualifying degree must be approved or recognized by the respective statutory apex body such as AICTE, NCTE, PCI, BCI, etc., wherever applicable.
- Candidates possessing degrees from other universities may be granted provisional eligibility subject to approval of the Equivalence Committee.
- Enrollment in the Ph.D. Programme remains subject to the final decision of the Equivalence Committee even if the candidate has qualified PET.
- Candidates who have completed Ph.D. admission from other universities, including Distance Education University, Autonomous College, Private University or Deemed University, remain subject to the decision of the Equivalence Committee as stated on the application portal.
Candidates claiming reservation benefits under the Non-Creamy Layer category must comply with the NCL certificate requirements specified for PET-2026.
- A valid NCL Certificate applicable for the prescribed financial year must be submitted.
- If the NCL Certificate is under process, proof of application such as the current year's acknowledgment receipt may be uploaded provisionally.
