The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) – JNU PhD Admission 2026-27 (Winter Session) invites applications for its prestigious Ph.D. Program. THSTI is an autonomous institution of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Government of India, dedicated to innovative translational research and collaboration across various disciplines to improve human health by translating concepts into products. This program is a joint initiative with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and the Ph.D. degree will be governed by JNU rules.

Candidates from a broad spectrum of disciplines, including Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Information Sciences, are eligible to apply. THSTI hosts various specialized centres like the Centre for Viral Therapeutics and Vaccines, Centre for Drug Discovery, and the Computational and Mathematical Biology Centre, supported by advanced core facilities such as the Biosafety Level – 3 Lab, Multi-OMICS Facility, and the Immunology Core Laboratory. Selection Procedure for Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) – JNU PhD Admission

1. Shortlisting: The shortlisted candidates will be called directly for an interview.

General Terms & Conditions

• Program Governance: The Ph.D. Program at THSTI is governed by JNU rules. Selected students will undergo Ph.D. coursework for 2 semesters and will be recommended to JNU for Ph.D. registration upon successful completion. The doctoral degree award requires completing all JNU rules.
• Fees: Admission fees, annual fees, registration fees, or any other fees levied by JNU shall be payable by the student.
• Accommodation: Selected students will have the option of shared hostel accommodation in lieu of their HRA.
• Reservation: Reservation policy will be followed as per Government of India norms. SC/ST/OBC candidates must submit the required certificates from authorized officers.
