CTET 2026 Overview

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). CTET is a national-level eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in Central Government schools and other participating institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Eligibility should be verified before submitting the application form.

Mere appearance in CTET does not guarantee eligibility for appointment. Final verification is done by the recruiting authority.

Qualifying Marks

A candidate scoring 60% or more marks in CTET will be considered CTET qualified. Reservation-related relaxations may be provided as per government norms.

CTET Certificate Validity

The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime. There is no restriction on the number of attempts, and candidates may reappear to improve their scores.
