Introduction
Applications are invited for the Ph.D. program for the academic session 2025-26 at Berhampur University. The program is offered across various subjects within the university campus and permanently affiliated colleges. Candidates must carefully review the prospectus and explore the university website before appearing for the viva-voce. Applicants already in service must submit a six-month leave order from their employer to pursue the course work.

Eligibility & Selection
- Master’s/M.Phil./M.Tech./LL.M. with at least 55% marks or CGPA 6.0. Relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwD.
- Admission based on research aptitude, subject interest, and interview/viva-voce. Non-appearance disqualifies candidates.
- Merit list as per UGC norms: 70% weightage to test scores + 30% to interview (for NET qualified candidates).
Application & Admission Process
- Application fee: Rs. 2000/- via SB Collect/Canara Easy Fee (in favor of Comptroller of Finance, Berhampur University).
- Submit payment receipt or DD to the Department Head/Coordinator/Principal.
- Attach: 3 passport-size photos, blood group certificate, original CLC & conduct certificates, migration certificate (if applicable).
- Failure to submit required documents by the deadline will result in seat forfeiture.

- Ph.D. duration: minimum 3 years (including coursework), maximum 6 years.
- Reservation available for SC/ST/PwD as per university rules.
- Qualifying NET does not guarantee admission; subject to seat availability.
- Ragging is strictly prohibited. Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper is mandatory at admission as per UGC rules.
