Dr. Homi Bhabha State University, Mumbai invites online applications for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in various disciplines offered at its constituent colleges and institutions for the academic year 2025–26.

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s degree (1-year after 4-year bachelor’s or 2-year after 3-year bachelor’s) or equivalent UGC-recognized qualification with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade. 5% relaxation for reserved categories.
• 4-year bachelor’s degree with research with minimum 75% marks or 70% for reserved categories.
• M.Phil. holders with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
• Those with pending M.Phil. viva-voce may apply provisionally.
• Foreign degrees equivalent to Master’s or M.Phil. accepted if certified by accreditation authority.

Ph.D. Entrance Test Requirement

The university does not conduct its own PET. Applicants must have a valid PET from a UGC-recognized university or be exempt under UGC norms such as NET, JRF, SET, GATE, INSPIRE, or M.Phil.
