Jadavpur University — Ph.D. Admission (July–December 2025)
Introduction
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for admission to the Ph.D. Programme under the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Law & Management (FISLM) for the July–December 2025 session. Selection will be through Written Entrance Test (WRET) and Interview/Presentation. Candidates with valid national-level exam scores (UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/GPAT/CEED/DST-INSPIRE/VISVESVARAYA, etc.) are exempted from WRET with proper proof.

Eligibility Criteria
- 2-year Master’s degree (MA/MSc/ME/MTech/MPharm or equivalent) with at least 55% marks.
- If PG is less than 2 years, total UG+PG must be at least 5 years of study.
- 4-year Bachelor’s (8-semester) degree holders require minimum 75% marks.
- Relaxation of 5% in entrance exam marks for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Disabled categories.

Application Process
- Download the prescribed Ph.D. form from JU website.
- Pay ₹500 per School/Department through SBI Collect.
- Submit filled form with payment receipt and required documents within deadline.
- Superscribe envelope: “Application to Ph.D. Programme under FISLM, July–December 2025”.
Selection Process
- Exemption from WRET for valid NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/GPAT/SET/CEED/DST-INSPIRE, etc.
- Weightage: 70% (WRET/National exam) + 30% (Interview).
- WRET qualifying marks: 50% for General category.
- Candidates must qualify in both WRET and Interview.
- No candidate already enrolled in Ph.D. elsewhere is eligible.
