Introduction

BRIC–Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, invites applications for Ph.D Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) for 2025. The institute aims at sustainable use of bioresources to benefit the North East region, a globally recognized biodiversity hotspot. Research areas include Plant Bioresources, Animal Bioresources, Microbial Resources, Natural Product Chemistry, and Bioinformatics.

Eligibility Criteria

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Botany, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Zoology, Fishery Sciences, or related fields.
• Minimum 55% marks for General and OBC, and 50% for SC, ST, and PH categories.
• Must have qualified CSIR-UGC JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, or DBT-JRF.
• Reservation: 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 27% OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and 3% PH.

2. Fill and sign the form. Attach self-attested copies of certificates and mark sheets.
3. Attach a Demand Draft of the required fee in favour of “Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development”, payable at Imphal.

Fellowship and Selection

Fellowship will be as per DST/DBT/CSIR/ICMR guidelines. If the number of eligible candidates is large, selection will be via interview. Selected candidates will be enrolled in the BRIC-DBT-RCB Ph.D. programme and may be placed at any IBSD centre. Enrollment at RCB, Faridabad is mandatory.
