The results of various undergraduate level programmes under different universities in West Bengal are expected by the end of August 2025. Accordingly, the Government of West Bengal has advised that the admission process for Teachers’ Training Programmes (B.Ed., M.Ed., B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed.) for the academic session 2025–2027 should begin from 2nd September 2025.
Admission Process Guidelines
- All Government and Government-aided Colleges and State-aided Universities will conduct online admission for B.Ed./M.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. courses on a standalone basis.
- Self-financed institutions will be admitted centrally through the affiliating University via online mode only.
- Government-aided and self-financing minority institutions will also follow online standalone mode.
Seat Reservation Policy
- 5% of seats in Government/Govt.-aided and State-aided Universities are reserved for untrained deputed school teachers of Classes V–XII (as per NCTE regulations).
- Same 5% reservation applies to self-financing institutions offering the same programmes.
- State-aided Unitary Universities will also reserve 5% of seats for untrained deputed teachers.
- If deputed teacher seats remain vacant after counselling, they may be de-reserved with prior approval of the affiliating University.
- Seat Ratio:
- State-aided Affiliated Universities – 80:20 (Home University: Other Universities)
- State-aided Unitary Universities – 90:10 (Home University: Other Universities)

Application & Admission Procedure
- No charges for scanning/uploading documents or accessing application forms online.
- Applicants to be informed via email, letter, or phone by respective institutions.
- Fees must be paid via e-payment or designated bank branches only.
- Admission fees to be deposited at banks by selected applicants as per merit list.
- All testimonials must be uploaded during online application.
- Document verification will be done when the student reports for classes.
Important Notes:
- Admission will be cancelled if documents are missing or don’t match the online application.
- COVID-19 safety protocols as notified by the Government must be followed at all times.
- This order remains in effect until further notice.
