- Educational Qualification: All applicants must have possessed at least a 2-year M.Sc. or equivalent degree from any University or Institute recognized by the UGC with requisite marks as per J.U. Ph.D. Regulation 2024.
- Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Entrance Exam: Candidates must have already qualified in NET / SET / GATE etc. examinations.
- Supervisor Consent: Admission of the candidate shall depend upon the consent of the supervisor to be allotted. Candidates have to submit the filled-in application to the Office of Dean & Secretary, Ph.D. Cell, Faculty of Science, TEQIP Building (Ground Floor, Room-106), Jadavpur University along with the following testimonials:
- One passport size photograph duly affixed in the application form
- Attested copies of all mark-sheets and certificates from Madhyamik onwards
- Admit card / certificate of Madhyamik for age verification
- SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B Certificate from competent authority (where applicable)
- NET / SET / GATE certificates etc.
- Receipt of online payment of application fee
- Filled-in consent form (optional) duly signed by the Supervisor, Director (in case of affiliated institute), and HOD of the concerned Department of Jadavpur University
- NOC portion of the form (for employed candidates), duly authenticated by the competent authority
