Important Dates and Registration Details

The online registration process for Ph.D. programs commenced on July 14, 2025. The last date for registration is July 31, 2025. However, candidates can register until August 08, 2025, with an additional late fee of Rs. 1000/- for all categories.

Registration Fees

• A separate registration fee is required for each Ph.D. program applied for.
• The online registration is complete only after the fee realization.
• The registration fee will not be refunded/adjusted in any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria and Admissions Process

Admissions to the Ph.D. program are primarily based on UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/National level tests scores, with 70% weightage given to the test score and 30% to the interview component. The interview component includes weightage for academics, fellowships (JRF/M.Phil.+NET/M.Phil./NET), research proposals, and personal interaction.

Amended Eligibility for Ph.D. (Human Rights):

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. (Human Rights) program shall have a Master’s Degree in Law, Human Rights and Duties, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Social Work, Political Science, or International Relations (as mentioned in the eligibility qualification in the UGC NET under subject code 58 & 92) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade “B”. A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) is allowed for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/Differently-abled and other reserved categories.

General Eligibility for Ph.D. Programs (unless specified as Entrance Exam only):

• Candidates must generally hold a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade “B” on the UGC 7-point scale.
• A 5% relaxation (to 50%) is provided for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates. This relaxation also applies to those who obtained their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991.
• Some programs, like Pharmaceutical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical & Automobile Engineering, require admission through an Entrance Examination only.
• For engineering disciplines, candidates may also be eligible with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 75% marks (with 5% relaxation for reserved categories).
